What we can help with
Corrections
If a state programme name, agency or phone number here is wrong or out of date, tell us which state and what you found. This is the most valuable message you can send us.
Accessibility problems
If a page does not work with your screen reader, keyboard, magnifier or switch access, describe what happened and what you were using. We treat these as defects, not feedback.
Translation help
Native speakers willing to review or extend a translation are exactly who we need, particularly for the crisis and state pages.
Reuse and reprinting
Parent groups, clinics and schools are welcome to print or adapt this material. Write and tell us what you need.
What we cannot do
- Advise on your individual child. We are not clinicians and cannot assess a child by email. Your paediatrician, your early intervention programme or a developmental specialist can.
- Represent you against a school district. Your state's Parent Training and Information Center does this for free, and your Protection & Advocacy agency provides free legal advocacy. Both are listed on your state page.
- Recommend a specific provider. We do not maintain a vetted list, and a recommendation we cannot stand behind is worse than none.
- Take payment or donations for placement. Nothing on this site can be bought.
Please do not send us
Medical records, evaluation reports, IEPs or photographs of your child. We do not need them, and email is not a secure way to send them. If you are describing a situation, a few sentences with no identifying details is plenty.

En qué podemos ayudar
Correcciones
Si el nombre de un programa, una agencia o un teléfono está mal o desactualizado, díganos de qué estado se trata y qué ha encontrado. Es el mensaje más valioso que puede enviarnos.
Problemas de accesibilidad
Si una página no funciona con su lector de pantalla, teclado, lupa o sistema de conmutadores, describa qué pasó y qué estaba usando. Lo tratamos como un fallo, no como una opinión.
Ayuda con traducciones
Los hablantes nativos dispuestos a revisar o ampliar una traducción son justo quienes nos hacen falta, sobre todo para las páginas de crisis y de estados.
Reutilización y reimpresión
Grupos de familias, clínicas y escuelas pueden imprimir o adaptar este material. Escríbanos y díganos qué necesita.
Qué no podemos hacer
- Asesorar sobre su hijo concreto. No somos clínicos y no podemos valorar a un niño por correo. Su pediatra, su programa de intervención temprana o un especialista del desarrollo sí pueden.
- Representarle frente a un distrito escolar. El Centro de Formación e Información para Padres de su estado lo hace gratis, y su agencia de Protección y Defensa ofrece asesoría legal gratuita. Ambos figuran en su página estatal.
- Recomendar un proveedor concreto. No mantenemos una lista verificada, y una recomendación que no podemos respaldar es peor que ninguna.
- Aceptar pagos o donativos por aparecer aquí. Nada de este sitio se puede comprar.
Por favor, no nos envíe
Historiales médicos, informes de evaluación, IEP ni fotografías de su hijo. No los necesitamos, y el correo electrónico no es una vía segura para enviarlos. Si nos describe una situación, bastan unas frases sin datos identificativos.
